MNC (Multi National Company) Interview Process

Hii, all I attended HP interview.

There were 7300 students. Due to large crowd first round taken was extempore.

It was to speak for one minute. 20% students were eliminated there.

Next was aptitude round:

In it there were 12 questions on English, 12 question on Quantitative aptitude.

65 question on C++, dbms. Out of 60 students in one batch only 7-8 students were selected.

Mostly question were on using &, <<and ascii values in expression. And derive the output.

There was a technical round:

In this it was question about difference between rdbms and dbms, what is html, tell about your interest in programming.

What is cloud computing?

Then was manager round. In this there was question asked about project, able to relocate or not.

Then was HR round:

They told that testing would be a better choice. But I wanted to work in development part. So I told that I wanted to work in development track.

Two days back TCS visited our campus as Day-1 company and 517 members are selected and the procedure as follows:

1. Written test (if applicable).
2. Technical round.
3. MR.
4. HR.

For TCS written test previous papers and papers in campus gate is very useful. The questions came from these only. There is no use in studying R. S. Agarwal preparing campus gate papers I get 27 questions out of 30.

Before there is also e-mail it is very crucial it is also from previous models.

After written they announced results in midnight and qualified members are selected for technical.

In technical they asked only simple C-programs and about our mini project. In some panels they completed both TR and MR simultaneously.

Some panels are gone through telephone interview.

In HR they only ask about flexibility and relocation, able to work in shifts.

TR is easy and if MR is there be very careful to answer it is like elimination and if you completed MR you are almost sele
Hi, we had pool campusing where 500 students appeared from our College. 400 cleared the aptitude.

For interview remain confident and be very humble and polite. You must come across as very eager to join the company.

Tech round questions asked :

Write a prog in C implementing the divisibility rule of 11 without using array. (Add the odd and even places digits and subtract it, if 0 it is divisible by 11)

Write a C prog to print your name without using semicolon.

What is dynamic and static polymorphism, give examples, inheritance, overloading, overriding, write their syntax.

I was asked a aptitude question (quite easy one)

What is normalization and write a few basic sql queries.

My project was on .net ..so i was asked to draw the ER diagram of the project . Write a prog to fetch data from the tables used in the project.

HR round:

Why do you want to join TCS?
Strength and weakness . Explain them.
Hobbies?
A few more questions on project (know about your project thoroughly). If you have good communication skills..you'll just breeze through this round and study the company history, present
Although it was a cakewalk for many of us. Almost 750 appeared for the test and 606 qualified and out of that 508 got placed and almost everyone from ECE, CSE and IT got placed But let me share my views on that.

1 - Aptitude test:

RS agarwal, IndiaBix are enough to crack TCS aptitude. You will get lot of common sums if you practice from those sites.

The apti mainly consists of Number System, Permutation Combination, probability, Algebra, Percentage, Time and Work, Geometry.

2 - Technical test:

Most important round in TCS. They will ask you from those subjects which you have put in your CV. So put all those subject on which you can handle the counter question. Being a ECE student I gave microprocessor, C and java as I love coding. They ask all the question from java and C. Please don't pretend that you know if you don't know any answers just confess without wasting their time.

- What do you mean by null pointer and void pointer?

The other question was from inheritance, jvm, class, object. I gave almost all the answers.

I was lucky that my panel was good as compared to others. It lasted for almost 15 mins.

Try to give TO THE POINT answer. They may ask basic question from your departmental subject, so be prepared. Programming like recursion using pointer, recursion of string palindrome, recursion of sum of n numbers, recursion using fibonacci, sorting may come as they normally don't give easy programs like factorial, prime, fibbo etc.

BE HONEST IF you DON'T KNOW. One of my friends got placed by saying 'I don't know'.

Of all the question they asked. SO DON'T WASTE THEIR TIME. It creates a bad impression.

3 - MR AND HR:

If you get selected in technical then you have 99% chance to get selected for TCS if you don't make any blunder. As TCS are our mass recruiter so we have 15 candidates in one panel for HR round. Our HR lasted for 3 hrs. Our HR was not good. KEY points.

- DON'T BECOME AGGRESSIVE if you have been humiliated they check your patience.

- Show your interest in TCS.

- Positive approach.   Hops of best

Interview Experience:

TCS selection procedure includes 4 rounds namely,

1. Aptitude online test
2. TR
3. MR
4. HR

But in my case it was different I was directly sent to HR round after TR round.

Aptitude online test includes 2 sections 0.33 negative marking for wrong answer and the paper had so many questions from previous question papers so refer all recent previous question papers and arun sharma cat book.

Technical round will be purely based on whatever you have mentioned in your resume and depends on your engineering branch if you're from computer science background be ready to face questions on C, C++, DBMS, Networking, Java, Data structure etc..

1. What is the difference between C and C++?
2. What is rdbms?
3. Write a program using bubble sort?
4. What is inner and outer join?
5. What is jdk, jvm?
6. Write a program using linked list?

If you clear TR round you are sent to MR and HR round.

HR round includes questions like,

1. Tell me about yourself?
2. Do you know about bond and are u ready to sign bond?
3. Are you ready to work in night shifts?
4. Are you ready to reallocate?

Just say yes to all the questions.

Finally I got a mail  from TCS that I have been selected was very happy and excited to join TCS.

All the best !!!!
Hope this will help all those who are going to attend TCS interview.

Today, I attended TCS exam. Exam was a bit tough, I got so many questions from previous question paper. I went through all question and patterns, they will be changing only number from question but pattern will be same.

TCS will be concentrating on algebra topics.

Like inequalities, simultaneous equation problems.

For this please go through youtube videos.

You can cover various topics like GP, AP (PROGRESSION).

Also.

There will be 3-4 questions from geometry, learn all the formulas. These question will direct question if you know formula then only you will be able to answer.

There will be 2 star mark questions. One of them will be direct other will be tough. Most of people will these problem thinking that it will take more time to solve.

Email writing :I got informal mail which was easy.

You must write all the phrases given in question or else you will be out.

There were two questions on reasoning, one of which previous year's.

I solved 23 questions.

Thanks.

Best of luck.

Hi all today I had my written test of infosys in which.

1. Logical part (15Q-35mins) - First 5 questions are based on sufficiency like statement 1 is sufficient etc then rest are all quanz likes 1 number series 1 permutation 1 coding 1 speed.

2. Analytical part (10Q-25 mins) - In which they gave a chart and asked 5 question then few statements to find who goes where. Similar to seating arrangement followed by 5 questions then 6 statement will be given and we have to connect any 3 logically.

3. Verbal part had (40Q-35) With 2 comprehension (attend last) and spotting errors, phrases, sentence improvement.

Over all each question carries 1 mark. So out of 65 we have "40 marks" for verbal but time is not enough for verbal which came last for me usually most of us lose focus at last but practice a lot. You can do it !.

"Practice is the key to crack".

ALL THE BEST !
Interviewer: Tell me about yourself.
Me: *introduced*.

Interviewer: Write a program to calculate power of x^n.
Me:*wrote* (I'm pretty good at coding).

Interviewer: Explain different software models.

Me: (I got P grade in SE and I didn't know any concepts in SE) Sir, I don't really like software engineering, It has no practical applications as its not used exactly the way it is studied. I think that we should come up with our own software cycle based on the needs of the organization. We should be like Apple Inc., who don't follow the cycle as such, we should start thinking of how to make a great product. Blah blah (tried to convince him that I knew SE).

Interviewer: *Explained the SE approaches followed in Infosys* Why do you think Apple sells a lot?

(Chit chat conversation on which HR talked for more than 20 mins (well, I made him to talk :P) and I talked for less than 3 mins).

Interviewer: Tell me about recent trends in IT (we were asked to prepare on recent trends in IT but I didn't prepare).

Me: I know few practical concepts about cloud computing.(said him about how Gmail works, thanks to TED talk which I saw months back

Hi everyone.

I attended interview on bharat University Chennai. I'm very glad to share my experience with you all. Here are my tips.

If you are checking this page means you are going to attend infosys interview. Here I'll give online test and HR experience. Confident you have on you and communication matters here.

You have two different parts in test. Numerical and verbal. Both are easy and only thing is time management. Numerical divided into 2 parts first one is Analytical and arithmetic reasoning and second one is critical thinking. Both sections are two check our thinking ability for first part you'll have 15 questions and 25 minutes and for second part you'll have 10 questions and 35 minutes.

These two sections are very easy and time also more than enough. I suggest you to prepare by using RS Agarwal reasoning book and none of the questions were asked from quantitative aptitude book from that book they asked ly data interpretation you prepare that alone sufficient. Only reasoning and data interpretation questions were there. So you concentrate on that.

Then coming to verbal section, questions asked are so general and from comprehension, theme detection, spotting errors Etc. Most of these topics covered in Aggarwal reasoning book. Here you'll have 40 questions and 40 mins not sufficient time so keep concentrate while reading.

My advice for you is concentrate more on verbal than numerical. For numerical you'll have efficient time and verbal bit tough to complete so here no -ve marking so I suggest you to attend all the questions. If you are selected means you'll receive mail from infosys team within next 2 working days to attend interview. In my case I got on that day night 9pm and asked me to report next day morning 8.30 am at same location.

Next day morning I went and all the documents verification were done and I was waiting for my time slot. They called me around 3.15pm and it took 20 minutes to complete. Nothing different in my case. I entered wished. He wished back and asked me to sit then general talk about families and technical questions he asked are how can you communicate two systems?any communication. As am from ECE background so I told about mobile tech then asked about CDMA, GSM, FDMA. Then some basic questions from C like writing programs and differences etc. They ask only from resumes so update only what you know well. So my interview end up there. And informed as within two weeks we will get mail.

Those who are rejected will receive mail within next 4-6 working days and selected candidates will receive later. In my case after 3 weeks I received login details from infosys and waiting for the joining letter. Don't scare. Be confident. Success is in your way.
